Weed is the other name of Marijuana
which is world’s most commonly used illegal drug. Many people believe that, marijuana abuse does not have any negative effects. Contradictory to their perceptions, THC, the main ingredient of the weed can cause many negative effects on brain and different parts of the body.
There are nearly 400 chemicals in marijuana. It is identified that above 60 of these chemicals interfere with the normal brain functioning. The parts of the brain, which deal with memory response, thought process, sensation of pleasure, movement coordination, perception and concentration levels, are effected by the those chemicals of the marijuana. So pleasure, memory, sensory and time perception, thinking, concentrating and coordinated movement of the user are influenced by smoking marijuana. This is the reason why marijuana smokers feel high.

Respiratory diseases: Marijuana can cause damage to the respiratory organs and other parts of the body. Some ailments like cough, chest cold, emphysema, blockage of the air passages, bronchitis and bronchitis asthma are caused by smoking marijuana.
Cough and asthma: Cough, lung infections and bronchial asthma etc. can be caused by the smoking weed.
Heart attack and heart diseases: According to studies, the user has the risk of heart attack, after first hour of smoking weed. It can also cause different heart diseases, because blood pressure and heart rate will be increased rapidly and the oxygen-carrying capability of blood is reduced because of smoking marijuana.
