The Nicotine Test Kit uses a rapid chromatographic immunoassay to detect cotinine, the major metabolite produced when nicotine is processed by the body. After nicotine is absorbed through smoking or other tobacco products, it is metabolized in the liver into cotinine, which remains in urine much longer than nicotine itself.
A urine specimen is applied to the test cassette using the supplied dropper. As the sample migrates across the membrane, antibodies react with cotinine if it is present above the established cutoff concentration. Results are displayed in less than five minutes through easy-to-read colored lines.
This test provides a qualitative preliminary result indicating the presence or absence of cotinine in urine

Instructions for Use
Nicotine is a naturally occurring stimulant found primarily in tobacco plants. It is the chemical responsible for the addictive nature of cigarettes and other tobacco products. After entering the body, nicotine is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream and reaches the brain within seconds, where it stimulates the release of dopamine and other neurotransmitters associated with pleasure and reward.
Because nicotine is broken down relatively quickly, drug tests generally do not measure nicotine itself. Instead, they detect cotinine, the primary metabolite produced when the body processes nicotine. Cotinine remains in the body much longer than nicotine, making it a much more reliable marker for identifying recent tobacco use. Urine cotinine testing is widely used in workplace screening, smoking cessation programs, insurance examinations, and clinical research to determine whether an individual has recently been exposed to nicotine.

Although nicotine is best known as the addictive substance found in tobacco, it also has several recognized medical applications. Controlled doses of nicotine are commonly used in nicotine
replacement therapy (NRT) to help individuals gradually reduce nicotine dependence and quit smoking.
Nicotine replacement products include nicotine gum, transdermal patches, lozenges, inhalers, nasal sprays, and certain electronic nicotine delivery systems prescribed or recommended as part of smoking cessation programs.
Researchers have also investigated nicotine's potential role in neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease, although these uses remain under ongoing scientific study
Nicotine is one of the most widely used addictive substances worldwide. It is commonly consumed through smoking cigarettes, cigars, and pipes, as well as through smokeless tobacco products, nicotine pouches, chewing tobacco, electronic cigarettes, and vaping devices.
Because nicotine reaches the brain within seconds of use, it can quickly produce pleasurable sensations that reinforce repeated use. Regular nicotine exposure may lead to physical dependence, making it difficult for users to stop without withdrawal symptoms such as irritability, anxiety, cravings, and difficulty concentrating
The Nicotine Test Kit (SKU: DCT-102) provides a fast, reliable, and convenient method for detecting recent nicotine use by identifying cotinine, the primary metabolite of nicotine, in urine. Using a simple one-step procedure, the test delivers accurate qualitative results in less than five minutes, making it ideal for workplace screening, smoking cessation programs, occupational health testing, insurance examinations, and clinical research. Designed for professional forensic use, this easy-to-use urine test offers dependable screening for recent tobacco exposure while helping organizations and healthcare professionals make informed decisions regarding nicotine use
The Nicotine Test Kit is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of cotinine, the primary metabolite of nicotine, in human urine. It provides a fast, accurate, and convenient method for determining recent nicotine or tobacco use in just a few minutes.
Unlike nicotine itself, which leaves the body relatively quickly, cotinine remains detectable for a longer period, making it a much more reliable indicator of recent tobacco exposure. This test is capable of detecting nicotine use from cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco, smokeless tobacco, nicotine pouches, and other nicotine-containing products.
The test features a simple one-step procedure and delivers reliable results in less than 5 minutes. It is intended to be administered by trained professionals and is designed for forensic use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic procedures or for use as a diagnostic tool
Nicotine testing measures cotinine, which is the major metabolite produced after nicotine enters the body. Since cotinine remains in urine much longer than nicotine itself, it provides a more reliable indication of recent tobacco use.
The amount of cotinine present in urine generally reflects the level of nicotine exposure. Individuals who smoke heavily or use nicotine products frequently may have higher cotinine concentrations and may remain positive for a longer period than occasional users.
Urine cotinine testing can detect nicotine exposure from various tobacco and nicotine products, including cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco, smokeless tobacco, nicotine replacement therapy products, and electronic cigarettes

Two colored lines appear—one in the Control (C) region and one in the Test (T) region. Even a faint Test line should be interpreted as a negative result.
Only one colored line appears in the Control (C) region, while no line appears in the Test (T) region. This indicates that cotinine has been detected at or above the screening cutoff.
If no Control line appears, the result is invalid and the test should be repeated using a new test device
